Welcome to Pulaski NetworksPulaski Networks is a full service ISP (Internet Service Provider) serving Southwest Virginia and surrounding areas since October 2000. Our goal, quite simply, is to provide the fastest, most reliable dialup internet service possible. The spam situation!As many of you have probably noticed, we got completely flooded with spam/junk mail earlier this week (Oct 6-8). This was caused by our decision to discontinue our service with Postini. There are several reasons for our decision, but the primary factors included Postini's decision to more than triple the cost of providing service, their refusal to honor their own contracts, and their inability to block certain types of spam. We've implemented a new anti-spam solution called SpamAssassin. While it will take some time for us to get SpamAssassin properly tuned, it has already proven to be at least as effective as Postini for most types of spam (for a while, you may see an increase in certain types of spam). Once it's running at it's full potential, we expect that it will be blocking upwards of 99.9% of all spam messages. However, before we can achieve that level of protection, we need to implement a few additional tools, which will be available as they are created. Also, before we really crank the filters to their maximum potential, we want to give each individual user the ability to set up their own lists:

Highspeed Wireless - Only $29.95/monthIf you have a clear view of Draper Mountain (Peak's Knob), and you're within about 5 miles, we can provide high speed wireless access to your home. Please call or email us to schedule a survey and/or installation. Here's the breakdown on pricing: There is a charge for equipment, since we don't have the same deep pockets that the Telephone and Cable companies do, so there is an equipment charge of about $250 and an installation charge of $99, but we are offering a $100 instant rebate to help keep your costs down. We're sorry, but we're no longer able to offer payment arrangements for our wireless services. You can, however, work with consumer financial groups such as Citi Financial or American General to finance your equipment purchase. Standard installation includes outdoor equipment, mounting bracket, up to 25' standard cable, pass-through of one wall and/or floor, and the connection of a single computer. Once all this is done, we'll get your Internet and Email set back up, restore your saved files, and install your choice of Anti-Virus software. If you don't have your own antivirus, we can help get you set up with either AVG or Avast Antivirus, both of which are free for home users. While service can take up to 3 business days, we're often able to get these jobs turned around much faster. Additional software installation can be done at our regular rate of $45/hour Minimum System Requirements - While we would like to help everyone get the most out of their computer, we do have to draw the line somewhere...
