They Knew Their God Book 2
by, E.F. & L. Harvey-224pages-$8.50
God never repeats Himself in human experience, and it is refreshing to mark these saints as they ventured their all upon God and left us individual histories which enrich the spiritual kingdom by the delightful variety we discover in all God's "other" creations. We do not submit these sketches that they should be imitated in detail as to their search for God, or as to their evidence of that attainment. We pray rather that their faith and courage, in proving and knowing God, might encourage us to realise there is no limit, except in ourselves, to what we might discover of His kingdom while here in "time".---From the foreword.
They Knew Their God Book 3

They Knew Their God Book 4
by, E.F. & L. Harvey-150pages-$8.50
The particular characters in Books Three and Four have been chosen because in them there was a Divine Purpose manifest, and a Divine influence felt. They heard a voice and followed; they wrestled with their sinful natures and saw in Redemption a cure for their sin; they grappled with almost insurmountable difficulties but overcame.
There is evidence that they possessed within themselves an indwelling Spirit Who moved them with compassion for the unlovable and supplied them with resources from a Heavenly base. .... The Holy Spirit, a present-day Resident, moved upon their hearts to do God's will. ---From the foreword.
They Knew Their God Book 5
by Lillian G. Harvey-204pages-$8.50
Our situation today is much like that which existed in the time of the Judges: "And there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which He had done for Israel." (Judges 2:10). Such ignorance in those days issued in God's people doing evil and turning to false religion.
Prayer has accompanied our search for little-known giants of faith---people who did exploits because "they knew their God." Such devotion as we read about shames our shallowness and our failure to make a vacuum for God in the busy materialistic scramble for higher living standards. We have expensive homes and luxury cars but know little of the vast riches and resources available to one who takes time to know and understand. Our ideals are to low, and our zeal so lukewarm, and our stocks of grace so pitifully small that we need to remember great saints who all remind us, we too can make our lives sublime, and departing leave behind us, footprints in the sands of time, as Longefellow wrote:
Footprints that perhaps another
Sailing o'er life's solemn mane,
Some forlorn and shipwrecked brother
Reading may take heart again. ---from the foreword.

Amanda Smith
Autobiography-159pages-$6.00

Count Zinzendorf
by Felix Bovet-96pages-$5.00
A very well written account of an unusual man of God. Zinzendorf, a contemporary of John Wesley, founded a religious community among Moravian immigrants called Herrnhut. He also wrote hymns and various books and instituted foreign missions.
I have learned to love in him a man who, more than any one before him, labored, not at the point of view of any particular Church, but for the Church Universal.... Convinced that it is life which is the light of men, he set himself to bring religion out of the region of abstractions. He endeavored to establish a spiritual union between Christians, not by inducing them to make concessions and compromises, but by awakening in them a livelier faith and a more ardent love to the Savior.---from author's preface.

This book, much of it in diary form, unveils the heart longings of this man of God, a personal friend of the well-known John Smith. Saved as a youth, Breeden's subsequent life was one of prevailing prayer and of Holy Ghost passion for the conversion of men.
William Carvosso
Autobiography and Letters-196pages-$7.50
This biography illustrates how useful an ordinary lay person can become in the purposes of God. Having no special talents or even a call to preach, Carvosso was yet a “burning and shining light,” and multitudes were blessed through his life and labors. His was a career from which we can all learn.
